Passengers on the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity High-Speed Rail are expected to experience the high-speed Wi-Fi within this year. According to the introduction, its average broadband at 300km/h is 10 times of existing 4G technology.
On the morning of August 4th, EUHT technology was successfully demonstrated on Beijing-Tianjin Intercity High-Speed Rail C2027. Passengers on the train can easily connect to Wi-Fi. The Internet speed can be used for normal Internet access and video viewing, which solves the problem of poor signal on the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity High-Speed Rail.

Enhanced Ultra High Throughput (EUHT) technology is developed by Guangdong Nufront. The deputy technical director of Guangzhou Nufront, Liu Shenfa, said, according to the third party test results, in the case of high-speed movement of 300km/h, the average transmission bandwidth of this technology is up to 150Mbps. These technical indicators exceed 4G technology by more than 10 times, and meet the performance requirements of the next generation 5G technology.

The whole EUHT system consists of three parts: ground communication network, interval wireless network and vehicle-mounted network. Firstly, installing indoor equipment in each station, and then completing the Wi-Fi system coverage through the base station along the way and the vehicle-mounted antenna. The representative of Nufront said, “We have installed 109 base stations along the 120-km line between Beijing and Tianjin, which has achieved full coverage. It is expected to be operated at the end of this year. Passengers will be able to enjoy a stable network on the high-speed trains.”
